Others in the Movement

American Center for the Integration of Spiritually Transformative Experiences Our mission is to address the integration needs and further the well-being of those who have had near-death or similar spiritually transformative experiences through research, education and support. Our vision is to create safe, readily accessible programs that facilitate experiencers on their paths to deeper understanding, greater clarity of purpose and greater sense of well-being while supporting them through their dramatic changes and integration phases. http://aciste.org/

Bay Area Hearing Voices Network represents a partnership between individuals who hear voices or have other extreme or unusual experiences and beliefs, professionals, allies in the community, and family members. As a group, we are working together to change assumptions made about these experiences and create learning and healing opportunities for people across the Bay Area. http://www.bayareahearingvoices.org/

Bay Area Mandala Project (BAMP) is a group composed of consumers, family members and mental health and medical professionals holding expertise in psychiatric crises, spiritual emergencies, peer support, and wellness and recovery support services. We promote alternative approaches to healing and recovery. We provide public education to build understanding of mental health and wellness as it relates to extreme states. Our proposed programs provide a therapeutic, holding environment which is flexible and able to respond to a wide range of emotional states and behaviors, including extreme states allowing individuals to feel safe, while staff accompanies them and supports their experience. http://www.bayareamandalaproject.org/

The Icarus Project We are a support network and media project by and for people who experience the world in ways that are often diagnosed as mental illness. We envision a new culture that allows the space and freedom for exploring different states of being, and recognizes that breakdown can be the entrance to breakthrough. We aim to create a language that is so vast and rich that it expresses the infinite diversity of human experiences. http://theicarusproject.net.

Spiritual Emergence Network provides individuals that are experiencing difficulties with psychospiritual growth a therapist referral and support service that is staffed by trained graduate students. In a culture which has not understood issues surrounding spiritual development, the gift of being heard and understood by a knowledgeable and supportive listener can be life-altering. We can provide referrals to licensed mental health care professionals (often in the caller’s area) who may be of ongoing assistance. All members of SEN’s National Referral Directory are licensed and insured and specialize in or have been trained to deal with many psychospiritual issues. http://spiritualemergence.info

“If they are correctly understood and supported, these psychospiritual crises can result in emotional and psychosomatic healing, remarkable psychological changes, and consciousness evolution.”
